I've seen where people are referring to head and neck cancers. what are the specific types?
My husband who just turned 52, was diagnosed with a sinonasal adenocarcinoma. We live in Chicago but he had it surgically removed at UPMC Presbytarian, unfortunately had to go back for another surgery a week after we returned bc of a brain fluid leak, he is currently in his 2nd week of Proton Radiation therapy. We are having trouble finding an oncologist who has dealt with this specific cancer. Cant seem to find much on the internet either.

shoshy,
Try these two links to get good information and find a specialist -

You should become a member of the second one, it's free. I hate having to join things and go the whole password route, but this is a rare cancer and you don't have a lot of resources available. This should get you some good information.

Head and Neck Cancers are typically adenocarcinoma or squamous cell carcinoma. Surgery and radiation is the main treatment therefore most are seen in the multidisciplenary clinics at MAJOR cancer hospitals. If you havent had a second opinion it always a very good idea to get one especially for uncommon cancers or those that require special treatment. Its also helpful to stay current with new treatments for these cancers; http://news.cancerconnect.com/types-of-cancer/head-and-neck-cancers/ there are many new treatment options becoming available

In 2011 I had radiation for esophageal cancer with great success. Early in 2015 I had part of my tongue removed due to tongue cancer. A few months later the cancer went to my jaw. Dec. 2015 I had a radical neck dissection to remove it. I was told there is a 50 percent chance of the cancer not returning to my jaw. This is what is called head and neck cancers. I am 73 years old.
