Hi @dianelinda, I am one of the moderators here and have messaged other members of the group to see if they can share their experience with you. I have had Taxol but for a different type of cancer. How many cycles has he had? One time my nurses forgot the antiemetics and I was really sick, but otherwise I tolerated it OK. Hope this helps!

This was his 2nd chemo w/the taxol, he has never reacted to a chemo in this way before. he takes dexamethasone the day before, the day of & the day after. It doesn't seem to be helping. Is what he is taking before, during & after an antiemetic?

I am Gihan I received taxol 4 cycle from 2years ago .<br />
I did not feel nausea or vomiting at all but I got tired for the week of the cycle only ( I could not eat or walk or seat all time I want to sleep) I use Zolam it is help me u can ask the doctor .<br />
I lost my hair after the first dose . My prayer for us <br />

He tells me he is having trouble following conversations at times & has begun twitching in his sleep & his legs jerk around. This is all new & not sure if it related to the doxetere (taxol) or something else. Anyone else have problems like this?

The Chemo & radiation in that area ( Which I had) will give you fatigue , dry mouth, can not taste, Loss of memory from Chemo, I still have chemo brain for the past year. I have yet to hear where anyone has gotten over the fatigue, its very frustrating.
You need to get the book they gave me when finished treatment by The National Cancer Institute. Its called all the things your doctors & nurses never told you. really pissed me off. And the doctors will deny that their treatment would not cause this or that, its a lie. Good luck and prayers go out.

You are so right, I asked all the right questions about the taxol & the dr. told me he had never seen any of those side affects. Not only did his NP screw up & give him the chemo when his WBC count was at 3.3 well below normal but she ignored a sore near his trach which was infected. She faciltaed the perfect storm & landed him in the hospital. Now the dr. is saying no more chemo of any kind, no pet scans, no scans ever again. They basically said it still localized but go home & die.

It sounds like you have some confused doctors. Have you gone elsewhere for a second opinion. I surely would not lay around waiting to die. How old are you?

My husband just turned 75.
