My husband has been diagnosed with throat cancer. It is advanced. He has already had radiation and chemo. It will take surgery to help him. We are waiting on PetScan to find out if it has spread. Please give me some encouraging news. I am so afraid.

Hi @caregiverforart, when is the PET scan scheduled? thinking of you!
Stay positive. I had Chemo and Rad and a few months later returned. I had surgery a radical neck dissection. I've been cancer free for a year now. Both bouts were advanced.
Praying for you both during this very stressful time, hope it helps to know that others care
I've had it and it's back in several places. I've been through radiation twice and have chemo every three weeks. I just passed a year on second diagnosis - I feel great and I'm very active.Just got back from 8 days in Florida. I volunteer 4 days a week. The new immune therapy drug about to be approved at the James is very promising - the results are phenomenal. I've changed my diet, exercise, and serve wherever I can. Cancer as strange as this sounds has been a real gift - I now have time I never had and have reconnected with my friends and family to a level I never had. Good luck to you. Stay positive. Tom
