Long term side effects

Posted by Cocobud @cocobud, Apr 4, 2016

Hi Guys & Gals, OK, I am two years out, all clear. I have yet to find a Head & neck, throat survivors who have ever had your side effects from Chemo & radiation. This rarely improves. I know Head , neck & throat like most of you. People after 5, 10 nor how many years never really improve. I get confused daily, I need to make money but can rarely concentrate. .... Will this go on forever?

I am3yrs out can't work because I'm now disabled the treatment killed
my thyroid now strangely I have autoimmune metaplastic atrophic gastritis
,however I didn't have it until after treatment. There are days that are
great but more days that are truly horrible I'm so thankful to be alive
or surviving not sure how much quite what I'd call living. I still can't
eat right I get choked right after treatment i had adrenal failure, I
have autonomoic body dysfunction, had my gallbladder removed had a
hysterectomy, had sesptsis blood infection in my port almost killed me. I
had cancer on the base of my tongue moved to lymph node onright side,
feel free to ask me anything I wonder myself will it ever get any better
I'm having alot of problems sleeping, fatigue like death,im better then I
was but it's like I crash on some days I can't seem to figure it out I
take all kinds of supplements my tyhroid levels are optimal ,the drs all
blame it on each other but I know it's definitely all from chemo 5mths
radition 33treatments some days I feel like giving up but I've always been
a fighter ,it's just I get so tired of it all I was dumb enough to think
within 6mths of treatment I'd be good now3yrs it's pretty much the same
but I was glad to see your post I hardly ever see anyone talking about head
and neck cancer I had it because of hpv they say I was lucky in that
regard I was and Continue to see oncology at Vanderbilt in TN. I wish
you luck much happiness and if you figure anything out let me know
thanks for your post I hope my chemo brain didn't get in my way of writing this post
