As fall gets here I will not be able to walk as much. What have you found to be the best exercise programs for winter. Tom

I decided to get a stationary bike last winter as i live in a "snow zone" i absolutely love it; i can read, listen to music or watch TV. I broke down and bought the Peloton, not cheap but a great product

Hi Tom - if the outdoors is too cold, buying a piece of equipment, like a stationery bike or treadmill is a choice. But another option is to join a gym. Not sure where you're located, but Planet Fitness costs about $10 per month. You have great access to treadmills, stationery bikes, recumbent bikes, and elliptical step gliders. If you have a cell phone, you can download an app like Pandora and set up different channels for music that you can listen to. You really only need about 20 mins. a day to get great benefit. You can also use your headphones/ear buds to watch their TV sets or download an app like Netflix - also about $10.00 a month. If you have access to a public gym like a school, just go and shoot some hoops. Even by yourself - just spend about 20 mins taking shots. Keeps you moving. Or join a local YMCA - which can be a bit expensive though. If it's too cold to walk for long periods outside, then just cut down the time. Walk for ten minutes - even short periods have benefits. No better medicine than exercise for both body, mind, and spirit!

I go to the gym - LA fitness. Runs me $30 a month. Very close to my house. I have a treadmill at home that my husband bought for himself. It never gets used by either of us. Just takes up space
